Earlier this month I presented "Lives, Material, and Records," a talk about my research and work, at the Graphite VIII: Manual launch party at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. Graphite is an interdisciplinary journal published by the Hammer Student Association.

Graduate Lectures
Our America
Our America: Critical Perspectives on Americana opens this Thursday, April 28, 2017 at Gelman Gallery in Providence, RI.
The show is curated by Anna McNeary and Aaron Field Simmons and includes my work, Inheritance.
"Americana traditionally refers to a culture of collecting objects that represent patriotism, national identity, westward expansion, home, and heritage. The artists in this show draw from these themes while critiquing and subverting the ideologies inherent in the objects they produce. The work in Our America pays homage to the changing traditions and intimate life moments experienced by artists and designers as they grapple with how to materially document and collect diverse narratives of the 'American experience.'"
TAKEN
TAKEN, the RISD Jewelry + Metalsmithing Graduate Biennial, opened at Sol Koffler Gallery on April 13, 2017. I am proud to be a part of this show, which was conceived of and designed by seven jewelers.
Mutual Encounters
Mutual Encounters opens March 16, 2017, at Gelman Gallery in Providence, RI. This show, curated by Anina Major and Vanessa Nieto Romero, "brings female artists together to tackle questions of social justice, especially how systematic injustice is experienced on the personal scale."
Alex Gencarelli and I collaborated on a performance/video/installation, Deformation Attends Her.
Where do a woman’s societal and psychological experiences intersect with the physicality of her body? Deformation Attends Her considers the overlap of these realms and the qualities necessary for her to endure.
-ISMS
Bodies was recently exhibited as a part of -ISMS: Exploring the Intersectionality of Identities, a show by RISD Global Initiatives.
Looking Back
Looking back at Feast and Fathom, the RISD Jewelry + Metalsmithing departmental show that was up around this time last year.
New Year New Pendant
Beginning 2017 with a positive experience, Neta Ron and I started the New Year New Pendant project, which connects jewelers from around the world through a physical exchange of work. Hopefully this will be the first round of a yearly tradition.
