All material carries a past, and whether we acknowledge this lineage or not, it exists. It may be to our advantage — as a way of orienting ourselves in our world — to consider the cycles of creation and destruction intrinsic to the objects and materials that surround us.
This series of vessels, Homes, explores the reincarnation of personal objects. Each vessel is made from objects left behind by the deceased residents of one home, and is named for the address of that home. These vessels are consolidations that memorialize the last lives of objects and the fleeting human lives that brought them together.
